Dr Carmen Ip

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), BVB

Graduating the University of Sydney in 2023 with a Bachelors of Veterinary Biology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Carmen is the newest addition to the AVC family. Her passion for veterinary medicine is fuelled by the want to help others better understand how to care for their beloved pets by advocating for their well-being, knowing how special the human-animal bond is. Carmen is able to consult in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Through her studies, she has gained particular interest in soft tissue surgery, and hopes to continue furthering her knowledge in this area, as well as other aspects such as endocrinology, dentistry and neonatal care. Always carrying a learning mindset, she is excited by the many opportunities for continual growth and improvement in the field.

Carmen strives to create a safe space for owners and their pets by utilising a fear free, tailored approach for each individual patient, and communicating closely with their owners to provide the best possible care for their pets, always prioritising the health and wellbeing of our furry companions.

Out of the clinic, when Carmen is not busy mothering her sassy 12 year old Shiba Inu, you’ll find her dreaming up her next travel itinerary or hitting up the pilates studio!
